Settling In at Oliver Parks: Reflections from Week One
At Oliver Parks, we know that a great first week can set the tone for a successful journey. That’s why we love hearing directly from our new starters about their experiences as they settle in. We recently sat down with Melissa to ask her a few questions about how she’s found her first week with us – from the highlights and the onboarding process, to what she’s most excited about in the months ahead.
- What made you choose to join OP?
The Interview Process from start to finish was very organised and I always felt like I knew where I was at. They didn’t leave me waiting for long and it just felt right from the start. I really like the Internationality of the company and being able to work in a German Team in London is amazing! At the end it was very much a gut feeling that it would be the right fit.
What’s been the highlight of your first week at Oliver Parks?
- I got to know my incredible Team, everyone is super helpful!
- The roleplays definitely made my palms sweaty but I am glad I did as many as I could – it definitely felt like an accomplishment.
- Going on lunch breaks with the Team, getting to know the area and the team
- How has the onboarding process helped you settle in?
It was a huge help! I had no idea about SAP before I joined Oliver Parks so all the training that Hendrik and Lindy provided / and still provide is extremely helpful for me to learn everything as quickly as possible.
- How would you describe the team vibe in three words?
Energetic, Open, Transparent
- Who or what has made your first week easier?
Everyone in the team has made me feel extremely welcome! Their openness and willingness to help has definitely made my first week much easier.
- What are you most excited about for the next few months at Oliver Parks?
Getting to know the specifics of the job better and creating sustainable routines! Everything is still quite new for me so I am excited to be more confident in the technicalities of my daily tasks. I am also super excited to make my first placement. And obviously to get to know my team better.
