We sat down with Benedikt, a key member of our German team in our London office, to find out what makes this division tick – and why we’re actively hiring to grow it. From the energy in the office to the trust-building power of native German speakers with our clients, Benedikt shares what it’s really like working in one of our most dynamic teams.   • How would you describe the German team here? What makes it special?

Highly energetic and super supportive. We have a lot of fun and still get things done. Everybody is open to support with any question and if we meet up outside of work it’s always a good time.

  • Have you worked with such a large concentration of German speakers before?

Not in the UK 😊 It is really fun and helped me a lot to get settled in a big city like London

  • How does having native German speakers impact the work you do with clients?

Although most decision makers and candidates in Germany do speak English, speaking German establishes a different kind of initial trust. Trust is the baseline for our work and some areas like data protection and privacy can be very sensitive in Germany. Having native German speakers helps a lot in that regard.

  • What’s the vibe like working in the London office?

Very upbeat and energetic. We try to push each other during our calls but are always there if somebody needs a helping hand or some advice. Also, the jokes funny despite us being a bunch of Germans 😉

  • Which clients or placements have been most rewarding for you?

The ones where I am in good contact with the candidate and can feel the energy the new situation fills them with. Either as the next step on the career ladder or to allow for more family time. Also, the really challenging deals, which require a lot of non-standard questions and solutions to make it work. Those are the ones which feel like the biggest personal achievement.

  • What would you tell someone considering joining our German team?

If you have high energy, are not afraid to speak with people and want to make an impact in people’s lives, I would love to have you join our team and get to know you.
