Settling In at Oliver Parks: Reflections from Week One

At Oliver Parks, we know that a great first week can set the tone for a successful journey. That’s why we love hearing directly from our new starters about their experiences as they settle in. We recently sat down with Melissa to ask her a few questions about how she’s found her first week with us – from the highlights and the onboarding process, to what she’s most excited about in the months ahead.

• What made you choose to join OP?

I chose to join Oliver Parks because of their strong reputation in the recruitment industry and the emphasis they place on culture, growth, and development. Since the interview process, it has been made clear that OP is not only dedicated to delivering excellence to clients and candidates but also to supporting and investing in their own team. That balance really stood out to me, and I knew it was an environment where I would be able to learn, grow, and thrive.

• What’s been the highlight of your first week at Oliver Parks?

The highlight of my first week has been meeting so many friendly and supportive people. Everyone has gone out of their way to make me feel welcome, and it’s been exciting to get a first glimpse of how the business operates. It is a motivating environment to be a part of, and being surrounded by such positive energy has been the standout part of my first week.

• How has the onboarding process helped you settle in?

The onboarding process at Oliver Parks has been clear, structured, and incredibly supportive, which made starting a new role feel far less daunting. From engaging training sessions to helpful resources and regular check-ins, everything has been designed to set me up for success. It’s given me the confidence to dive straight in and feel like part of the team from day one.

• How would you describe the team vibe in three words?

Supportive, energetic, and welcoming.

• Who or what has made your first week easier?

Being sat next to Ashling has made my first week so much easier. She’s been there to answer any questions I’ve had, big or small, and has been incredibly patient and supportive throughout. On top of that, the whole team has gone out of their way to make me feel comfortable and included, which has made settling in such a smooth experience.

• What are you most excited about for the next few months at Oliver Parks?

I’m most excited about developing my skills, building strong relationships with clients and candidates, and contributing to the success of the team. It’s motivating to know that I’ll be learning from experienced colleagues while also having the opportunity to make an impact myself. I’m really looking forward to seeing my progress and growth over the next few months.
